The beVisoneers program

The project you would be working on at The DO School Fellowships is beVisioneers – a three-year, global environmental Fellowship that equips innovators aged 16 to 28 with the training, expert support and resources to bring their planet-positive projects to life. 

About the role

About The Role

As a Venture Coach you will coach young innovators from around the world to develop and launch their planet-positive projects. You work directly with dozens of fellows over the course of a 12-month period. Your work is part of a holistic, hybrid program for fellows to develop their leadership, entrepreneurial skills, and environmental stewardship.  

You will own… 

  • Execution of a group-based coaching roadmap for fellows to move from idea to launch of their project 
  • Leading monthly video calls with your fellow coaching groups from highly diverse backgrounds and regions to help them apply the entrepreneurial learning concepts and deepen skills
  • Being the contact point for the requests by your fellows on entrepreneurial  learning outside coaching group sessions via our online platform and/or live office hours
  • Tracking the learning progress of the fellows you directly coach in your coaching groups
  • Supporting the completion of key project milestones as well as beVisioneers-specific grant proposal writing

… and support…

  • Facilitating a program-wide live learning sessions in one of the three learning labs based on your specific areas of expertise
  • Reviewing and shortlisting beVisioneers grant applications and moderating jury sessions as needed

About you

To thrive and grow in this role, you will likely have: 

  • Practical experience in launching your own venture and learning from successes and failures
  • Experience in coaching highly diverse early-stage entrepreneurs to move from idea to launch of a project or venture
  • Worked in online and hybrid settings and different cultural contexts
  • Lived experience in one of our regions: North America, Africa, Europe, or South/East Asia

… and will likely be: 

  • Able to create an empowering, inspiring atmosphere for youth to grow and take ownership of their results
  • Purpose-driven with a passion for environmental action and/or youth leadership
  • Empathetic, open-minded and flexible
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Ideally, you might also have … 

  • Deep experience in a specific area relevant for early stage ventures like for example effective marketing for impact ventures, design and product development, business model design

This is what you can expect…

In the first month, you will complete your onboarding, learn the nuts & bolts of beVisioneers, and participate in finalizing the venture coaching planning for Cohort 2 running from July 2024 til May 2025.

After three months, you will have a good understanding of our method and all the venture lab learning content; you will be coaching fellows to apply their entrepreneurial skills to the development of their project.

After six months, you will support fellows to prototype and then launch their projects and will work closely with the team on evaluation and continuous improvement.

After one year, you will contribute to a successful ramp-up of the program to further regions; you will also contribute to the overall coaching strategy of beVisioneers.

Katherin Kirschenmann is founder and Chief Program Officer of The DO. In the past years she has built and worked in partnership with major institutions and corporations, including IKEA, H&M, the Deutsche Bahn, Unilever, the Hong Kong Jockey Club and various UN organizations.

Katherin is an international speaker, executive facilitator, and TV host with Deutsche Welle. She draws on her wide international experience across sectors to develop new ways to co-create innovation, develop Purposeful DOers, and impact entrepreneurs. Engagements under her leadership have empowered thousands of individuals and businesses to create meaningful innovation and lasting social change.

Before founding The DO, Katherin gained 10 years of experience in consulting as well as the inter-governmental and non-profit sector
